Planning for the redesign and expansion of the playground at Pröbsting Lake began in 2017. The aim was to make the entire space inclusive and barrier-free.
The entire area is divided into different sections. The large play facility with the balancing system catches the eye as visitors enter the playground, while its location in the “Up and Down” area is apt. Children can go across the balancing mikado poles and various climbing and balancing equipment to reach the large slide tower, from where they can whoosh down a number of thrilling freefall slides.
They can continue onward to the walkway system with its combined bridge system, which has numerous features to help it stand out. For instance, the system is equipped with a wheelchair staircase, which also makes it possible for people with disabilities to play along. Stainless steel obstacles and mesh bases have been placed on the floor, providing additional stimulus and making different types of play possible.
The whole look is completed by the logs integrated into the parapet and the play of colours created by the lollipop top element. The “Up and Down” area has been equipped with two swings, which are located right next to the fitness area, where visitors to the playground can have a go at the fitness wall.
Smaller children also have lots to do in the “Small and Smart”. With a sand construction site, a pair of swings with a “big and small” seats and a playhouse set-up, there’s something here for everyone.
